Trading Risks

Algorithmic
Time-Weighted Risk:

There is an opportunity cost to holding long-duration trades. In some cases, one could profit more from intra-day profit while in a long-duration trade - which would lead to indirect losses


Runaway Trades:

On a limited number of trades per year, it is possible that a trade runs away (ie BTC goes into price discovery/market gaps)

Stablecoin Depeg

Depegging refers to the phenomenon of a stablecoin deviating from its intended peg. For instance, if a USD-pegged stablecoin sustained a drop in value under $1, the coin is said to be depegged.

Legislation is a fundamental risk. For example, how the SEC is to view ETH as it has now moved from POW to POS

When the algorithm trades beyond it’s predictive range, we have safety parameters that start to hedge your position automatically - meaning some months you may suffer a small loss - however in that specific instance, based on our backtesting, it is statistically more profitable to come out of a trade in these conditions versus holding the position

Regulated Stables
USDC and BUSD are US regualted Sablecoins. Tether is availble - but outside the US regulatory system.
Audited treasuries
We only work with coins that have audited treasuries. We dont work with any algorithmic stablecoins. This means 1 for 1 bank deposit backing or Treasury Bills
Blue chip coins
We believe in the asset class, however there is always the risk that if the traded pair, BTC or ETH goes to zero. BTC is already classified as a commodity by the Exchange At (CEA).
Risk Mitigation
Proof of reserves
We only work with exchanges that do end-to-end Merkle Tree proof of funds and 1:1 backing of customer funds. We offer at least 2 highly regulated exchanges in addition to the largest non-kyc exchange Bybit
Order volume + liquidity
The exchanges we work with have exceptional liquidity and trading volume - this gives the trading system the best chances of executing buy and sell orders
Top security
All our exchanges employ bank grade security. We recommend you use 2FA on all your exchange accounts and email account. We use SHA-256 HMAC cryptographic encryption with your critical data.
